'Post' sports staffers attempt to predict Ohio-Akron outcome

"The Post" sports staffers predict Ohio's matchup with Akron.

The Post sports staffers attempt to predict Ohio and Akron's matchup Feb. 2.

Here's what they said:

Luke O'Roark | Sports Editor

Ohio 74, Akron 71

I'm remaining optimistic. Ohio has tons of offensive firepower and is 9-1 inside The Convo this season. Akron is competitive, but the Zips have taken advantage of a weak schedule. Free lava cakes for everyone, too!

Charlie Hatch | Sports Editor

Ohio 74, Akron 68

My buddy Isaiah "Big Dog" Johnson plays for Akron as a forward. I hope he has a triple-double, but the Bobcats win in an upset. Woof, woof.

Tony Wolfe | Senior Writer

Akron 95, Ohio 82.

Akron is a 3-point shooting team with a ton of firepower offensively and would probably still get my vote as the MAC favorite. A single-digit loss is probably the best case scenario for the Bobcats.

Wynston Wilcox | Staff Writer

Akron 88, Ohio 80

Ohio always plays Akron close in The Convo. These team is a lot better than it was last year, but Akron is a little bit better. A close one in Athens, but the Zips get the edge.

Jordan Horrobin | Staff Writer

Akron 85, Ohio 72

Ohio is struggling offensively and defensively in conference games so far, and Akron, a top-four team in the MAC, will take advantage of the youthful Bobcats.
