Ohio University's Board of Trustees will meet Thursday and Friday this week at its third meeting of the academic year.
As Ohio University's Board of Trustees prepares for its meeting Thursday and Friday, The Post is here to explain how OU’s governing body works, why the trustees are important and why the university has a Board of Trustees.
The trustees almost always meet in Walter Hall when they hold meetings at the Athens campus.
The meeting will be the third of the 2015-16 academic year.
At the last meeting, the board approved construction projects, The Ridges Framework Plan and a plan to reduce student costs by 5 percent as required by the Ohio Senate.
At the Thursday and Friday’s meetings, the board will discuss tuition increases for the class of 2020, the potential demolition of President Street Academic Center and the cutting of low-enrollment classes, according to its agenda.
