Car vandalism solved by the sheriff's office

The Athens County Sheriff's Office solved the multiple car window vandals.

The Athens County Sheriff's Office has solved the vehicle vandalism spree, according to its Facebook page. 

According to the post, multiple juveniles were involved and confessions were obtained. 

Earlier this week, the sheriff's office received 25 reports of car windows that had been smashed, allegedly with a BB gun. The Athens Police Department received 10 calls to service pertaining to the same crime.

As of Jan. 20, the total damage from the vandalism was more than $10,000, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. 

The vandalism took place in Athens, The Plains, Chauncey, Wonder Hills and Jacksonville, according to sheriff's office and APD officials. 

The case is currently under investigation.
