It's week 12 at Ohio University, and the end is drawing near. The leaves have moved past beautiful and into piles in the street gutters. Veterans Day has come, marched and gone. You can almost smell the turkey coming out of the oven because Thanksgiving is so close. You have almost made it, only a few more projects and a lot of studying for finals. Then, you get to wake up in your bed at home with the breakfast your parents have made you (or to the smell of fry grease as you go back to your part time job at Wendy's, which is probably more likely).
There isn't our usual Post Modern story to promote this week due to the Veterans Day festivities. Instead, I urge you to read the coverage of the University of Missouri proceedings. Our editors think it's worth following, and they took a break from their normal Athens-themed editorials to write about Mizzou. Students on campus gathered Wednesday to show support for the protesters, and even OU President Roderick McDavis made an appearance to show "support of making our institution the best it can be for our African-American students and for all the other students," he said at the event. The Fully Focused column was also about Mizzou, but focused on the controversy surrounding the journalists covering the protests.
