Ohio University employee sues university for damage to car

The accountant for the Ohio University Foundation is suing the university for $695.

An Ohio University employee is suing the university for $695 after an OU Catering van hit her parked car.

OU Foundation Accountant Rita Kapp’s 2001 Nissan Altima was in the parking lot of the West Union Street Office Center when the driver of a university catering van hit the driver’s side of her car, according to court documents. Kapp was not in the vehicle when the incident occurred.

The crash happened Sept. 4, and her claim was filed in the Ohio Court of Claims on Nov. 17.

The cover of Kapp's rear bumper was dented, scraped and knocked from the clippings holding it in place, according to court documents.

Kapp declined to comment.
