He was the third-placing American at the marathon.
Former Ohio runner Craig Leon finished eighth at the TCS New York Marathon on Sunday. Leon recorded a time of 2:15:16 and was one of two Americans to finish in the top 10.
Previously, Leon had competed in the Boston and Chicago marathons, as well as the Pan-American Games Marathon where he finished in fifth place. He also came close to qualifying for the 2012 Olympics in London.

During his time at Ohio, Leon led the team to a fourth place finish at the MAC Championships in 2007, where he finished in second place individually. He was also an individual qualifier for the NCAA Cross Country Championships that same year, according to a previous Post report.
