Ohio will play Kent State in the MAC Tournament semifinals Friday.
Ohio (8-9, 3-3 MAC) will get another chance to play Mid-American Conference regular season champion, Kent State (9-8, 5-1 MAC), in the conference tournament semifinals this week.
The No. 4 Bobcats will play the No.1 Golden Flashes on Friday at 11:30 a.m., in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The top four teams are the only programs eligible to compete in the MAC Tournament.
Ohio played Kent State in last year’s MAC final, losing 2-0. This regular season, the Bobcats played the Golden Flashes once, losing 2-1 on Oct. 23.

As evidenced by the losses, Ohio has a hard time against Kent State. The last time Ohio toppled Kent State was Nov. 2, 2013, when the Bobcats won 3-2 in double-overtime.
Ohio will need to play a complete game against Kent State in order to put themselves in the best possible position to win, as a recurring problem this season has been the Bobcats’ inconsistency.
If Ohio wins, it will play the winner of the semifinals match between No. 2 Miami (11-7, 5-1 MAC) and No. 3 Missouri State (6-11, 3-3 MAC).
