The men finished fifth and the women finished eighth at the Mid-American Conference Championships in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
Both teams finished better than preseason expectations, as the women were projected to finish 10th and men, sixth.
Led by junior Ellen Isaac the "Bobcat pack attack", the women's team, struggled on Saturday. Assistant coach Tim Sykes wanted Isaac to finish in the top three. She finished eighth.
Sykes wanted the women to pack it up in the top 25 spots, but only Isaac finished in that area. Six Bobcats finished in the top 50, but three fell into the bottom half of the 100-woman field.
The men were picked to finish sixth in the preseason, but were without junior and top runner Michael McKean for every race except All-Ohios. That trend continued at MAC's as McKean was again unable to go because of his hip injury.
As they have been all season, the Bobcats were led by junior Alex Wind, who finished 15th. Two more Bobcats finished in the top 25, and all but one finished in the top 50.

All season long, the women seemingly built momentum toward what they thought would be a strong run at a MAC title.
