The Bobcats finished their fourth tournament of the season in second place. This was the Bobcats best finish of the season so far.
You may call it a blowout or even beginners luck, but whatever you call it, it came at the perfect time for the Bobcats.
Tuesday, Ohio placed second out of eleven teams at the Rocket Classic — the best finish of the season.
After 54 holes, the Bobcats shot a combined 59 over par for a three round score of 923. In the last three years, this has been the Bobcats' best finish at the Rocket Classic.
Coach Kelly Ovington was reached for comment but was unavailable.
Freshman Nicole Smiley and junior Hailey Hrynewich posted top ten scores in the tournament.

Hrynewich finished the tournament shooting seven over par for a three round score of 223, good enough for fourth out of more than 60 golfers. Smiley was 13 over par with a score of 229, finishing in seventh place.
Both sunk three birdies in the final round of the tournament, a feat the rest of the team combined couldn’t accomplish.
The Bobcats finished 34 strokes behind the tournaments host, Toledo, as the Rockets had the top three golfers in the tournament.
On the flip side, Ohio was able to finish 18 strokes above a third place Loyola team that finished with a score of 941.
This could be a big finish for Ohio, since it hasn’t been able to breach the top five since its season opening tournament in September. The Bobcats will next travel to Noblesville, Indiana, for the Mid-American Fall Preview on Oct. 11, marking the end of their fall season.
