Technobabble: 10 ways Ohio University students can use Twitter’s new poll feature

Twitter now has a new feature, allowing social networkers to poll their followers.

Favoriting or retweeting your favorite One Direction member tweets are over — you can host a formal One Direction Twitter poll and analyze the results accordingly.

This past week, Twitter launched widespread native Twitter polls, which allow users to poll their followers on various issues with the tap of a tweet.

Users can write tweets using the regular length of 140 characters and tweet out polls instantly. Polls will remain live for 24 hours and are currently restricted to two choice questions. After the 24 hour period, users will receive a notification with the results — all results are anonymous.

This new feature is great for marketers, engagement analysts and journalists, but how can students implement polls into their day-to-day activities?

Here’s 10 ways you can use Twitter polls in your everyday stressful, indecisive college life:

1. For your stats survey project in lieu of sending annoying survey emails — please stop doing that

2. Rating your friends: Who’s more likely to bake you cookies? Sam or Seth

3. During celebrity Twitter fights: Who’s winning: Queen Taylor or Queen Nicki

4. When you and your friends can’t decide on drunk food: Big Mama’s Burritos or Uptown Grill’s Chicken and Waffle

5. Deciding whether to go out or go to the gym — you already know the answer to that question

6. Bothering your followers with political polls during debates: Hillary or Bernie

7. Letting your followers decide your laundry laziness: Do it today or Do it tomorrow

8. For you procrastinators, what to be for Halloween: Basic cat or Where’s Waldo

9. Declaring your major: Art history or Outdoor recreation — probably the most fun majors out there

10. Which is the most creative fall drink?: PSL or Apple Chaider
