Ohio University Police Department officers observed a male standing in the alley between Athens City Hall and the First Presbyterian Church at about 2 a.m.
A 19-year-old man learned the hard way early Friday morning that it's never a good idea to urinate in an alley between a church and city hall.
Ohio University Police Department officers observed a male standing in the alley between the Athens City Hall building and the First Presbyterian Church at about 2 a.m. Officers then discovered the man was urinating against the southwest corner of the city hall building.
OUPD officers approached the man and found that he was also in possession of a Colorado driver's license. When they analyzed the license, it was determined to be "not in file." The officers took the ID, entered it into evidence and marked it for destruction, according to the report.
The subject was charged with disorderly conduct for public urination and is scheduled to appear in Athens Municipal Court on Oct. 15.
During the past week, OUPD reported six drug-related offenses and 10 alcohol-related disturbances. OUPD has cracked down on fake IDs this week, as well, filing four reports.

At about 3 a.m. on Oct. 6, OUPD officers were called to the second floor of Bryan Hall for an intoxicated male running through the halls and banging on doors.
When officers arrived, they identified the subject and noticed that he was unsteady on his feet, had watery, bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol, according to the OUPD report.
Beforehand, the officers had learned that the man entered an unsecured second floor room, threw objects around the room and spit on a pair of shoes before he left the room, according to the report.
Eventually the man was charged with disorderly conduct for intoxication and criminal mischief.
An Ohio University student reported that a man watched him in the stall in a Baker Center restroom at 2:35 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
There are no leads or suspects, and the matter is still under investigation.
OUPD received a report that two women were threatening to harm another female Friday evening.
The victim reported that two women she knew through her roommate were threatening to hurt her. After an investigation of the situation, OUPD arrested an 18-year-old female.
The woman was subsequently charged with menacing, which is a fourth-degree misdemeanor. She will appear Athens Municipal Court on Oct. 15.
