The leader of the Student Senate welcomes people to talk to the group about issues facing the campus community.
On Tuesday morning The Post ran a letter that contained hate speech and discrimination against members of the LGBT community on campus. A few members of that community came to us concerned, and rightfully so. Speech such as this creates a campus atmosphere that is discouraging, and even harmful. In response to this letter, we want to let the campus community know that we not only support our LGBT community, but we condemn hate speech of all types. We will not tolerate it. As allies, we open our doors to anyone in the LGBT community to speak to us about campus issues involving hate speech, or other issues affecting this community.
We are here to listen and take action to ensure Ohio University is a safe and welcoming community for all students. Our office is in Baker 305.
