Senior libero Meredith Ashy has been named Mid-American Conference East Division Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, the league announced Monday morning.
This is the sixth time in her career, and the second time in two weeks, she has received the honor.
Ashy is coming off a solid performance in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky this weekend where she helped the Bobcats to a 2-1 performance at the Active Ankle Challenge. She was also named to the All-Active Ankle Challenge Team.
She led the Bobcats with 59 digs this weekend, upping her total to 204 on the season. Ashy has averaged 5.51 digs per set so far this season, as Ohio has tallied a 7-3 record in 2015.
Ashy ranks second in school history with 1,801 digs in her career.
