After announcing this week that it would be stopping at Ohio University on Tuesday, ResponsibleOhio has rescheduled its OU stop on the “Green Rush Bus Tour” for a later date.
Members of ResponsibleOhio’s “Green Rush Bus Tour” won’t be visiting Ohio University's Athens campus Tuesday after all.
The marijuana legalization advocacy group sent out a news release early Tuesday morning stating that the Ohio University tour stop “has been rescheduled for a later date.”
The tour stop was originally slated for Oct. 6, but was changed to an earlier date to encourage more college students to register to vote.
The deadline for voter registration is Oct. 5.
The group sent out a news release Monday that said it would be on campus Tuesday at noon, and that its location was yet to be determined.
OU spokeswoman Katie Quaranta said Monday that members of the group had not reached out to the university's Parking Services or Event Planning.
“I think what’s going to happen is we’re probably going to get to campus early and just get a spot,” Faith Oltman, spokeswoman for ResponsibleOhio, said Monday.
The tour, which was launched last month, has been making its way through all 88 counties of the state offering medical marijuana testimonies and information on job opportunities.

ResponsibleOhio’s ballot measure would legalize marijuana for medical and recreational use and would authorize it to be produced at 10 growing facilities throughout Ohio.
The marijuana would then go to one of five testing facilities, one of which would be in Athens, before being shipped off to retailers, who can sell the marijuana to people 21 and older.
