Police Blotter: Intoxicated student urinates in Resident Assistant's doorway

An intoxicated Ohio University student was found without any clothes on in his Resident Assistant's dorm room Thursday morning after urinating near the room's entrance.

An Ohio University student was found in his Resident Assistant's dorm room Thursday morning after urinating near the room's entrance and passing out on a futon.

Ohio University Police Department officers were called to Wilson Hall at about 2:40 a.m. after being notified by the RA about an intoxicated male resident. When OUPD arrived they spotted a large puddle of liquid located in the entrance to the room of the RA's dorm room, according to the report.

The officers found the male on the futon wearing no shirt and noticed a strong odor of alcohol, lethargic behavior and bloodshot eyes. OUPD requested that the male's roommate retrieve a pair of pants for the suspect.

The individual was then issued a state citation for disorderly conduct by intoxication and given a court date. The RA also requested restitution for a pair of slippers that were urinated on by the suspect and cost around $5, according to the report.

This past week, OUPD reported a total of 11 alcohol-related incidents and five drug-related disturbances.

OUPD received a report about a theft occurring in OU Parking Lot 43 on Saturday at 12:43 p.m.

According to the report, a man parked his truck in the lot at about 6 a.m. and left an unsecured cooler in the back. When he returned to his vehicle a few hours later, the cooler had been stolen.

The cooler was blue with a white lid and contained a 12-pack of Michelob Ultra and a few cans of soda.

Also on Saturday the Athens County Sheriff's Office was called in regards to a report of an assault.

The complainant said while he was at a Marathon gas station in Chauncey, a male came up to him and started yelling at him and threatened to "kick his butt."

The victim clarified that the man never assaulted him but just threatened to do so. The case is still under further investigation.

Deputies were also advised of a potential active burglary on Imperial Street in Doanville on Sunday, which turned out to be a false alarm.

At about 12:40 p.m., a subject was seen crawling through a house's "doggie door" to gain access in a foreclosed residence, according to the report.

When deputies arrived, it was discovered that a realtor was showing the residence to a family. The house's key was not allowing them access, so a member of the purchasing family went through the door to enter the home.
