A Xenia man appeared in court Wednesday for allegedly robbing a McDonald's and Speedway on Richland Avenue
Late Tuesday night, the Athens Police Department received a report of a possible robbery at McDonald’s, on Richland Avenue north of State Route 33, according to a police report.
A white male wearing a black sweatshirt allegedly walked into McDonald’s and Speedway, just south of the restaurant on Richland Avenue, and demanded money, according to police.
The suspect fled the scene shortly after, according to the APD report.
Police later arrested a Xenia resident in connection with the crime.
The man was transferred to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail where he was charged with robbery, disrupting public services and abduction, according to the report.
The man appeared in Athens Municipal Court on Wednesday morning.
