Ryan Taylor is leaving the basketball team, leaving an open scholarship entering the 2015-16 season
Sophomore guard Ryan Taylor has left Ohio's basketball program, coach Saul Phillips said Monday.
Taylor, who started in 28 of the team's 30 games, has skipped weekly training sessions for the last three weeks, The Athens Messenger's Jason Arkley reports.
Standing at 6-foot-5, he averaged 8.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per contest in 2014-15.
With Taylor's absence, the Bobcats will have an open scholarship entering the 2015-16 season.
There's no word yet as to his future. Although Taylor has left the team, it doesn't mean he's transferred to another program, or enrolled in classes at another university.
