Jenny Hall-Jones said she will not apply for the newly open vice president for Student Affairs position
One top-level Student Affairs administrator at Ohio University says she doesn’t want the job Ryan Lombardi will vacate when he leaves this summer.
Jenny Hall-Jones, dean of students, said she won’t seek the vice president for Student Affairs position after it was announced Monday that Lombardi will leave Ohio University for a similar position at Cornell University.
“I really like what I do,” she said. “I want to do what I do.”

Hall-Jones became dean of students in May 2013 after Lombardi, who previously held the position, became vice president.
Hall-Jones said she is sad to see Lombardi go, but said the position is “a wonderful opportunity for him.”
“We should be very proud as an institution that he’s making that step,” she said.
Hall-Jones said Lombardi changed the Division of Student Affairs for the better during his seven years at OU. She listed the creation of the Margaret Boyd Scholars Program, expanding the dean of students office and combining two offices to create the Career and Leadership Development Center as just some of his major accomplishments.
“The legacy of things he did while he was here is going to continue,” she said.
