Senate elections on students’ minds, in our inboxes

The Post’s executive editors have received many letters about next week’s Student Senate elections. Read them at thepostathens.com/opinion.

Our email inboxes have been filled over the past several days with letters to the editor, mostly pertaining to the upcoming Student Senate elections.

The elections, taking place Tuesday through Thursday, feature 12 executive candidates from four tickets. Several candidates and their supporters have written us over the past few days to promote support for particular tickets.

From what we have seen thus far, student interest in the senate elections has been relatively high, especially compared to years past. Each of the Student Senate debates has drawn a fair crowd, and candidates have been active in promoting their platforms on campus. We encourage such participation.

If you feel strongly about a particular candidate, send us a letter at letters@thepostathens.com. It will likely be published on our website and might wind up in our paper. (We could only fit two in today’s paper, but there are several new ones on thepostathens.com.)

Check out thepostathens.com to read interviews with each of the tickets and letters about the upcoming elections. We hope our coverage can help inform your decision-making when you cast your ballot early next week.
