Baseball: Bowling Green 4, Ohio 2

Ohio’s four-game winning streak was snapped by Bowling Green on Friday night at The Wren, as the Falcons took game one of the weekend series 4-2.

The Bobcats snatched the lead in the first courtesy of a Mitch Longo single to right field to score Jake Madson. The single extended Longo’s hitting streak to 10 games.

But in the third Ohio allowed two runs off two errors, giving the Falcons a 2-1 lead they never gave up.

The Falcons added another run in the fifth to make it 3-1, before a Tyler Wells single scored Madsen in the sixth for Ohio to keep it a one-run game.

Bowling Green added its final run in the ninth when Trey Keegen hit a double to the wall, scoring Kory Brown.

Ohio’s record drops to 18-13 (5-4 MAC). The teams will meet in a doubleheader tomorrow. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
