Raposo previously served as priest of the Society of Missionaries of St. Francis Xavier of Goa, India.
His cause of death is not known at this time.
An Athens resident since 2012, he was pursuing his doctorate in communication.
“He was very wonderfully cheerful, energetic, bright, patient, understanding man and a very successful priest,” said Moore.
