The ranking is from The Business Journals
Ohio University is the third-best public school in the state, or at least that’s how it fared in the latest list from The Business Journals released last week.
In the Journals’ list of 484 public four-year public colleges nationwide, Ohio University ranked 128th. The only Ohio colleges that placed higher were Ohio State University ranked 15th and Miami University ranked at 41st.
University of Cincinnati placed below OU at 138th, with the remaining Ohio public colleges placing in what the Business Journals’ described as the “lower echelon” category, or the bottom 233 schools.
The Business Journals ranked the schools by scoring in six categories: selectivity, advancement, prestige, costs, diversity and community.

Part of the scoring factored in the latest rankings from U.S. News and World Report. Since President Roderick McDavis took over in 2004, OU has fallen in that standing from 98 in 2005 to 129 in 2015.
The Business Journals is a conglomerate of media outlets that cover business news at the local, state and national levels. Journals in Ohio include Dayton Business Journal and Columbus Business First.
