Faculty Senate to convene for its first meeting of the semester.
Faculty Senate will be given official guidelines on how to deal with reports of sexual assault Monday at its first meeting of the year.
The policies and procedures help faculty take the most effective procedures to help sexual assault victims and “distressed or disruptive” students, as well as to point those students to available university resources.
Dean of Students Jenny Hall-Jones will give a presentation to faculty members about the guidelines, which are contained in a series of documents known as the Student Assistance Folders.
The sexual misconduct folders, which were distributed last October, are made available through the Division of Student Affairs office and contain information on sexual assault resources, codes and legal obligations, according to a previous Post article.
The last time Faculty Senate met was Dec. 8.
Also on the agenda for Monday’s Faculty Senate meeting:
- President Roderick McDavis and Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit will give updates from their office and hear feedback from Faculty Senate.
- Chief Human Resource Officer Colleen Bendl and Senior Human Resource Director Greg Fialko will also present an update on recommendations for university benefit plans.
