Athens Fire Department responded to an apparent dumpster fire outside Lindley Hall on Friday morning.
First responders arrived on the scene between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. and as of 11:10 a.m., the fire appeared to be contained within the dumpster.
Ohio University Police Department officers have been directing traffic and keeping pedestrians away from the sidewalk near the construction site where the fire broke out.
OU officials could not be reached by press time for comment.
