Ohio defeated Clarion, 42-5, to begin 2015 with a dual-meet victory.

Recording four pins, including three in a row, two technical falls, one major decision, and three decisions, the Bobcats defeated Clarion, 42-5.
Ohio earned it’s first pin early on the evening, as 133-pound junior Kagan Squire pinned Seth Carr to give the Bobcats an early 9-0 lead.
After taking the early lead, Ohio lost it’s first and only match of the evening, as Clarion junior Sam Sherlock defeated redshirt freshman Joel Shump with a technical fall, 21-5. Redshirt 149-pound junior Tywan Claxton then also earned a technical fall, 16-0, as he picked up his sixth straight win of the season and advanced his record to 19-1.
Redshirt junior Sparty Chino, redshirt senior Harrison Hightower, and redshirt junior Cody Walters then picked up three consecutive pins in the 157, 164, and 174-pound weight classes respectively.
The Bobcats then sealed up the blowout as they swept the rest of the matches, including a 13-4 major decision victory from 197-pound redshirt junior Phil Wellington.
Ohio returns to The Convo on Saturday as they taken on conference foe Central Michigan. The Chippewas are 2-0 in the Mid-American Conference this season, while the Bobcats are 0-1.
