The MAC announced Tuesday that 13 Ohio football players have made the Academic All-MAC team.
The Mid-American Conference announced Tuesday that 13 Ohio football players have been named to the 2014 Academic All-MAC team.
Redshirt senior safety Josh Kristoff and redshirt sophomore defensive end Kurt Laseak were the two lone Bobcats to receive the honors for the second time. The MAC named 135 student-athletes to the class.
Ohio was one of four teams with 13 players named and was just one student-athlete shy of Central Michigan and Northern Illinois, which each had a class-high 14 players to receive the honors.
To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of this past season’s games. First-year students and junior college transfers in their first year are not eligible for the award.
