Letter: Honor healthcare workers

OhioHealth honors the dedicated and exceptional staff of the OhioHealth Appalachian Community Visiting Nurse Association Hospice and Health Services.

Please join me in honoring the dedicated and exceptional staff of the OhioHealth Appalachian Community Visiting Nurse Association Hospice and Health Services, during the nationally recognized Home Health and Hospice Month. The staff consists of nurses, therapists, social workers and aides. They, together, provide supportive services and high-quality health care in patients’ homes throughout the Appalachian region. Our staff takes the time to listen and understand your needs. They can help you make the best decisions in your difficult time of serious or life-threatening illness. Our hospice staff provides expert pain management and symptom control as well as support for the client and family when a cure is not possible. They treat each individual with dignity and respect and help each hospice client live his or her life to the fullest. They selflessly travel many miles over sometimes difficult roads to provide care for our neighbors. These heroes continually seek to improve the lives of those we serve. It is an honor to work with this staff, to work in home care, and to serve the people in this area.

Cheryl Sharp is the director of the OhioHealth Appalachian Community Visiting Nurse Association Hospice and Health Services, Inc.
