For the third time in less than a month, a woman has reported she was raped on Ohio University’s Athens campus.

For the third time in less than a month, a woman has reported she was raped on Ohio University’s Athens campus.

The most recent report was relayed to OU Police last Tuesday, and stemmed from an incident that allegedly happened three years ago.

According to the OUPD report, the woman said she was raped in Shively Hall by a “known assailant” in Sept. 2011. The release said that the case is still under investigation.

The first two reported rapes spurred OUPD crime alerts that represent “ongoing threats to campus.”

The first rape was reported to have occurred Nov. 11. on “Main Green” at about 2 a.m.

According to the alert, a group of men were walking by a woman when one of them went up to the woman and kissed her before “digitally penetrating her.”

The second report was made Nov. 23, when OUPD sent out a crime alert regarding an anonymous female subject who had been sexually assaulted on Morton Hill at about 2 a.m.

The male assailant was described as being 5’6”, having dark brown hair and a beard, and of muscular build and white complexion.
