OUPD issues crime alert for reported rape

The attack reportedly happened early Sunday morning.

Ohio University Police released a campus crime alert Monday evening in response to a rape that was reported early Sunday morning.

At 3:13 a.m. Sunday, an "anonymous female" told OUPD that her female friend was raped by a man on Morton Hill at about 2 a.m. that morning.

The caller described the man as about 5'6", with dark brown hair and beard and of muscular build and white complexion, according to the report. He was wearing a white sweatshirt and blue jeans at the time, according to the alert.

According to the alert, the caller reported her friend was walking alone down Morton Hill at the time of the attack.

The crime alert said OUPD is unable to investigate this case further right now because of the anonymous nature of the report, but those with knowledge of the reported attack are encouraged to contact OUPD at 740-593-1911.

OUPD issued another crime alert Nov. 15 for a reported rape that occurred on "Main Green" at about 2 a.m. Nov. 11.
