For the past month, a small team of Post staffers has explored the topic of sexual assault in Southeast Ohio: what resources are available to survivors and how they can access them.
The Post published a comprehensive five-day report about its findings, presenting readers with a complete picture of what happens in the aftermath of sexual assault.
Topics include the following:
- Monday: What procedures a sexual assault survivor can follow in the immediate aftermath of the assault
- Tuesday: How rural Appalachian Ohio sexual assault survivors are unlikely to report assault
- Wednesday: What resources are available for children survivors of sexual abuse
- Thursday: What resources are available for members of the LGBTQ community who are survivors of sexual assault
- Friday: Why Ohio University does not offer sexual assault forensic examinations
The Post has also published a story about a Presidential Advisory Council on Sexual Misconduct that met for the first time Friday.
Its executive editors penned an editorial about the council as well.
The publication also covered a rally by F--kRapeCulture and published this report Monday.
Columnist Jessica Ensley, a member of the campus activist group, wrote a column about the rally. Senior editor Joshua Jamerson gave his take in his Wednesday column as well.
