The 2014 Block Party music schedule was announced featuring many well known Athens bands.
The 2014 Block Party schedule is filled with familiar names to many Athens Music lovers including Sassafraz, Manitoa, Bright At Night, Holy Spicoli and one of the event's organizers Brandon "DJ B-Funk" Thompson.
Other performances will be had from Dweeb, Backwords, Mrs. Helen Highwater, Jones For Revival and Skashank Redemption.
Thompson recently ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to purchase professional barriers for the North Stage on the corner of Court and State street as well as extra lighting for the stages.
Thompson will also host a number of fellow DJs on the third Lokoween Stage, sponsored by Four Loko, located between Lucky's Sports Tavern and Attractions. This will be the location for the costume contest as well as eight DJs including Simian, Jeanyus, Air Marshall, Bohno, Easty, Overwaves, 2 High Crew and Bass Marvels performing from 6-11 p.m.
Performances begin with Dweeb at 6:30 on the South Stage, corner of Court and Union street, and are precluded by the Honey for the Heart puppet march.
