Ohio University President Roderick McDavis was threatened late last week.
Ohio University Student Senate President Megan Marzec wasn’t the only Bobcat threatened last week.
OU President Roderick McDavis also received a threat on Thursday, according to a police report.
The OU Police Department is investigating a call of “threatening nature,” phoned Thursday to McDavis’ office, according to an OUPD report. An OU staff reported the incident to OUPD.
While OUPD investigated that threat, officers made their usual calls related to alcohol and drug offenses.
The department received 14 drug-related reports from Sept. 1 to Sept. 7. Two female juveniles were arrested Sunday at Brough House, according to an OUPD police log, in connection to the possession of controlled substances. They were transported to OUPD.
Three people were cited and another was arrested and transported to jail in connection with alcohol-related offenses during that seven-day period, according to the log. An OUPD officer was called to Baker University Center on Saturday to check on a woman who had passed out in the corridor leading to the Baker Ballroom.
The woman was awake while talking to police but had vomited on herself and nearby furniture. She was cited for underage alcohol consumption and intoxication.
Alcohol was also believed to be in play when a man urinated in public Saturday night.
The man was charged for public urination and an open container violation when an officer came in contact with him outside Ryors Hall at West Green.
Officers also responded to three burglaries reports that occurred in Jefferson Hall over the weekend. The Post was unable to confirm if any of the reports were connected.
While campus officers were busy handling drug-related offenses and burglaries, the Athens Police Department saw at least two cases of theft over the weekend.
The first report was logged Saturday morning when a man reported that someone had forced open the rear window of his car and stole his Summit parking pass, worth $50.
Police took another report about two hours later after a man, who had parked his car at the ball field on West State Street, realized that his medication was missing when he returned to his car.
