Athens is under a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight, 12 a.m., on Wednesday, the National Weather Service announced late Tuesday.
The warning includes much of southeastern Ohio, including Athens, Meigs, Morgan, Vinton and Washington counties.
The line of severe thunderstorms in the region could generate winds up to 60 mph, the weather service said.
