A Glouster man who pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and burglary last January was granted judicial release last week.
Anthony Carey, 33, who pleaded guilty to both indictments Jan. 30 last year, was sentenced to four years in prison and ordered to pay $545 to Jewell’s Carry-Out in Glouster, the store he robbed, according to court documents.
Carey filed for judicial release on Mar. 11 and had a hearing regarding the motion last Friday.
Among the limitations placed on Carey, he will be on Community Control for five years, has to pay court costs within a year, cannot have any contact with the victim or the victim’s family and has to pay the restitution of $545 within 12 months. If Carey commits any violation, he has agreed to serve the remainder of his sentence.
According to a previous Post article, Carey could have been sentenced to a maximum of 14 years in prison and a maximum fine of $13,000.
