Ohio University administrators and faculty are not the only ones preparing for this week’s OU Board of Trustees meeting.
OU’s Student Senate will again host top university officials Wednesday evening to brief the body on the items to be discussed at the board meetings Thursday and Friday.
Steve Golding, vice president of finance and administration, and John Day, associate provost for academic budget and planning, will discuss the “Transforming OHIO” plan to be presented at the board’s joint academic and resources committee meeting Thursday.
The Transforming OHIO plan will be an overarching strategy and theme in addressing larger university initiatives, such as the Total Compensation Plan, the Enrollment Plan and the Promise Lives Campaign, among others.
Although the topics that will be discussed at the Board of Trustees meeting have already been set on the agenda, senate members will have an opportunity at Wednesday’s meeting to ask questions and offer opinions about issues such as guaranteed tuition.
“It’s good to have people come in for clarification,” said Student Senate President Anna Morton.
Applications for Student Senate are due Monday to the Event Services Office in Baker 347. Campaigning will begin March 24, and elections will take place April 17, according to a previous Post article.
Student trustee finalists interviewed with Gov. Kasich on Tuesday, and the student who was chosen will be announced at OU’s 31st Annual Leadership Awards Gala on April 2, according to a previous Post article.
