Chuck Stuckey, former CEO of RSA Security, Inc. and a 1966 Ohio University alumnus, will deliver the commencement address for those graduating this year.
Stuckey started his education at OU’s Lancaster campus while balancing a full-time position with the Anchor Hocking Glass Company, and he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in 1966.
“My whole career kind of started while I was on campus, with getting exposed to a lot of that particular industry which was what I built a career around for 30 years,” Stuckey said.
In recent years, Stuckey has served as an active member of the Ohio University Alumni Association: contributing $2 million to the Promise Lives Campaign, assisting with the development of the Academic and Research Center, serving as an OU National Trustee from 2005-2010, and lecturing for the Stocker Lecture Series within the Russ College of Engineering.
Although Stuckey received the John C. Baker Founder’s Award — recognizing those who provide extraordinary service to the OU Foundation — he said this opportunity is the greatest OU has bestowed upon him.
“The fact that the president chose to select me I feel is a really outstanding honor,” Stuckey said.
Commencement will take place on May 3 at 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
