Nelsonville Music Festival still has some surprises up its sleeves, announcing 10 more bands Friday including former fest performers Shovels & Ropes and the lo-fi king Kurt Vile.
Other performers announced include
Valerie June, Lucius, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Wooden Indian Burial Ground, The Tillers, Justin Gordon and returning local performers Todd Burge, Unmonumental, and Weedghost.
The festival is set to run May 29 through June 1 and has already amassed an impressive list of headliners from Avett Brothers to Dinosaur Jr.
The folk duo Shovels & Rope have performed at the festival in the past, playing both the main stage and an intimate set in the No-Fi cabin, a performance which quickly made them a buzz among the grounds.
Kurt Vile has always been a critical darling of the industry, but now he’s hot off of a good year topping many best of 2013 lists with his album
Walkin On A Pretty Daze
.
As always, the addition of bands means festival prices have also increased. Weekend passes are now on sale for $110 with single day passes set at $50 for Thursday, $70 for Friday, $80 for Saturday and $60 for Sunday.
