The PHILosopher: Backups are a must

I’m on my ninth iPhone and my second Macbook Pro. My 2010 Macbook Pro got stolen during a party last year and I bust more iPhones than beer bottles on any given weekend. Unfortunately, my column this week will be very short due to the fact that I have suffered water damage to my now second Macbook Pro.

I honestly feel like I should be offered a job at Apple by this point. With more than $2,000 invested in iPhones and another $3,450 in Macbooks, I feel as if I deserve a coupon or something. Or buy me a cappuccino. Hell, I’d settle for an autograph from Tim Cook. Just give me something because this is getting more expensive than my ex-girlfriend.

Anyway, point of this rant is back your data up. I lost the column that would have run here due to my hard drive doing its best impression of the Titanic. Use Dropbox, flash drives, external hard drives, whatever floats your digital boat. Just don’t use your hard drive as your sole source of data storage.

I’m heading to Easton tomorrow to see if the geniuses at Apple can, as Dr. Evil says in Austin Powers, “throw me a frickin’ bone.” The ironic part of this mini article is that Lil Wayne’s “No Worries” is blasting on my iPhone. Perhaps that’s a sign.
