If you feel you are in the mood for a little paranormal adventure, there may be a perfect time to do so.
There is a European folklore that points to the most significant time that ghosts come out. Some people refer to these times as “The Witching Hour” or “The Devil’s Hour,” but some signs point to them being two completely different things. This might make your Halloween paranormal hunt a little more interesting if this turns out to be truth rather than myth.
The Witching Hour is considered to be at midnight, particularly on a full moon, and this was believed to be the time where witches’ powers were at their highest strength, so that they could do the most evil. According to the Salem Witch Museum website, during the 17th century, witches were being prosecuted the most, and people believed that epidemics of diseases were caused by women who worshipped the devil.
The Devil’s Hour is a totally different time. People speculate differently what time this occurs. Some say that midnight is the most prevalent time of paranormal activity, but others consider that demons and true possessions occur at the time of 3:00 a.m., when evil is truly at work.
The whole idea of Halloween comes from witches and the worshipping of the devil.
A lot of students at Ohio University like the fact that the campus is one of the most haunted in the world. Many people are intrigued by the idea of The Ridges, and want to make an adventure up to this old asylum to see if they are able to find anything, or explore one of the five cemeteries that form a pentagram around the heart of OU’s campus.
If you ever feel like venturing out and looking for some ghost activity, I would say your best bet would be at 3:00 a.m.
There’s only one way to see if this is a time where you really might experience paranormal activity, but with the holiday notoriously known for being about ghosts and spirits, it might be the best time to find out. People all over the Internet claim they experience weird happenings when it is early in the morning, but you can’t believe everything you read online. If you really want to know, go take a ghost hunt yourself. Just don’t be surprised if you come across something you weren’t expecting to see.
