Cross Country: Accurso paces Ohio at Pre-Nationals in Louisville

The men and women’s cross country team competed in Pre-Nationals Saturday, a tournament that launched the beginning of a decisive road to the end of the season.

More than 120 men and women participated in the meet that included schools like Georgetown, Michigan and Florida State.

The Bobcat women ran in the 6-kilometer seeded race and finished 24th with All-American junior Juli Accurso leading the way for the Bobcats finishing 13th with a time of 20 minutes 15 seconds.

Fellow junior •Melissa Thompson was the next Bobcat finisher, as she placed 93rd with a time of 21 minutes 31 seconds.

The men competed in the unseeded 8-kilometer race with senior captain Tyler Ames leading the way.

Ames finished as the top Bobcat runner with a time of •25 minutes, •10 seconds. Freshmen Jarrod Genther and Wes Cochran finished 41st and 45th respectively.
