Texas Tech point guard Javarez Willis announced his plans to transfer to Ohio via Twitter on Friday.
"Just signed with Ohio University! Happy to be a part of the family#Bobcats," Willis tweeted.
While Willis joining the Bobcats seems imminent, Ohio SID Drew Wiseman could not confirm the addition of Willis.
Willis averaged 8.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Red Raiders last season while starting 31 of the team's 32 games.
Per NCAA transfer regulations, Willis would have to sit out next season before regaining eligibility as a junior for the 2013-2014 season.
If he does transfer, the 5-foot-11Willis would be the third Texas Tech player to transfer following last season, a year in which the Red Raiders won only eight games. He would have to sit out a year in accordance with NCAA rules.
