A freshman on Ohio’s football team has decided to leave the program.
Ronnie Bell, a 6-foot, 175-pound quarterback from Fayetteville, Ga., has decided to leave the team, Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations Tom Symonds said.
Symonds said he does not know where Bell will transfer. Ohio University spokeswoman Katie Quaranta said he is not enrolled for Winter Quarter classes.
Bell is a true freshman this year on the scout team and was slotted behind fellow freshman quarterback Derrius Vick on the depth chart. He played quarterback at Sandy Creek High School and led the team to two straight state championships. During his career at Sandy Creek, he passed for 4,675 yards.
According to ESPN.com, he was a two-star recruit with a scout grade of 71 coming out of high school.
