Athens Police Department is investigating a reported rape near Christ the King Church early Saturday morning.
A female student reported that a black male approached her in the parking lot behind the church, 75 Stewart St., at about 4 a.m. Saturday, according to an Ohio University Police Department campus crime alert.
The suspect pulled out a large knife and forced the victim to walk to a small outbuilding where he raped her, according to the alert.
He then left the parking lot on foot in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as a black male about 19 to 24 years old and 6 foot to 6 foot 4 inches tall. He was wearing dark pants and a sweatshirt, according to the report.
