Three weeks after Ohio’s contest with Cleveland State was canceled because of inclement Athens weather, the Bobcats will head upstate to face the Vikings after another rainout.
Ohio was supposed to play Cincinnati yesterday at Bob Wren Stadium, but rain led to the Bobcats’ first canceled game since their March 30 matchup with Cleveland State.
The Bobcats (16-20) are still set for a 5 p.m. game with the Vikings (7-25) today at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio, where heavy rain forced Cleveland State to cancel its game with Kent State yesterday.
The forecast in Avon calls for 56 degrees and rain today.
The Bobcats have lost seven of their last eight games. Despite scoring 21 runs during its three-game series with Northern Illinois last weekend, Ohio lost twice.
Coach Joe Carbone will likely start several reserve players against Cleveland State, as is his preference during mid-week games.
