Yesterday morning, the Hocking River was at 10 feet, above its normal level of 5 or 6 feet. The flood stage is 20 feet, Batty said.
No evacuations or injuries were reported from the flooding, sheriff's departments officials said.
Storms shifted south, dumping about an inch of rain yesterday morning in Gallia and Lawrence counties along the Ohio River, Batty said.
Yesterday night, a cold front was expected to sweep through the area. Batty predicts a blustery day today with highs around 40. Freezing temperatures are expected tonight, with lows in the upper 20s.
Freezing could cause ice on roadways later in the week, Batty said.
It could be a concern going to school and work come dawn Friday because it does run off the hills for several days so we'll have to keep an eye on that
he said.
