Soccer player breaks slump

Forward Christel Schiering broke out of her slump this weekend and earned Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Player-of-the-Week Honors after leading the Bobcats to two victories during the weekend.

She scored three goals against Ball State to lead Ohio to a 4-1 win. She also scored the entire hat trick in less than four minutes during the second half. The hat trick was only the second of her career and the third in the history of the women's soccer program.

The senior from Cincinnati now stands alone in third place on the MAC's all-time scoring leaders. She also stretched her school record number of goals to 43.

Golf Wraps Up Final Fall Tournament

The final day of play was rained out as the golf team finished tied for 17th in the Xavier Provident Invitational in Mason Monday. The Bobcats shot rounds of 297 and 295 during the two days of tournament play. Brian Bickle finished 19th individually after shooting two even-par rounds of 71. Another notable was Mark Cimarolli, who shot a two-over par 73 and a five-over par 76 to place 66th individually.

Tickets for Basketball Season on Sale Tonight

The lottery for the 2003-04 O-Zone basketball lottery will officially begin at 7:15 p.m. tonight. All students in line before 7:15 p.m. will be eligible for the lottery, but fans must stay in line throughout the event. Students can enter The Convo via the Student Entrance.

Each student can get lottery tickets with his or her student ID and up to nine others, as long as they give the person attending the lottery their student ID. One lottery ticket will be given out for each ID card.

Once everyone in line before 7:15 has a lottery ticket, the drawing will begin. The numbers will be announced to the students. When a student's number is called, that person will be able to choose a seat, complete a registration form and pick up a t-shirt.

The lottery will continue until all of the 740 seats are taken for the 2003-2004 season. A crowd of around 500-700 people is expected for the event. The ticket office is expecting to sell almost all of the seats available.

I would expect it to be very close

said Shelley Binegar, director of ticket operations. All tickets within the O-Zone cost $15.00.

Membership in the O-Zone includes a t-shirt, premier reserved seating and hospitality at a few select home games.

The package includes tickets to every home game at The Convo this year. Both the men's and women's basketball teams have 14 home games, including two exhibitions apiece. There is also the opportunity to attend an away game and O-Zone members will be given priority status for the MAC Championship game, which will be held in Gund Arena in Cleveland. 17
