Ohio men's club rugby team's A side continued their undefeated season with a 38-0 victory against Marshall's A side this past weekend.
Club president Darren Clifford said that the Marshall win was an important one for the A side, keeping their playoff hopes alive. Clifford said he was pleased with the focused team-play attitude of the sides.
We are really coming through as a team
Clifford said. (We are) working together and we are playing absolutely awesomely.
Also in action during the weekend, Ohio's B side dropped a close match to Xavier's A side, 33-31. The Bobcats C side fared better against Xavier, defeating the Musketeer's B side, 31-0.
As pleased as he said he was with the win against Marshall, Clifford said he knows all of the Bobcats' sides will be tested this upcoming weekend. Ohio will play a nationally ranked Ohio State team (4-2).
OSU is the top school in Ohio and they are ranked as one of the best in the country so it's going to be a tough game said Clifford. We'd like a big crowd to come out and hopefully we will pose an upset.
All three Ohio rugby sides will be in action at home Saturday Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. against No. 5 Ohio State.
