The Ohio men's and women's track and field teams returned to their home turf Saturday, and both finished second out of eight schools in the McDonald's Invitational.
Despite missing its top scorer, the women's team notched 153 points, finishing 25 behind first-place Buffalo. Foli James, one of the team's leading jumpers and hurdlers, did not compete due to a slight groin injury.
Sprinter/hurdler Melody Royster helped counter James' absence with two first-place finishes, winning the 100-meter dash and the 100 high hurdles with times of 12.67 seconds and 14.63, respectively.
Hurdler Jericka Duncan and sprinter/jumper Randi Carter also added to the scoreboard with the team's only other first-place finishes. Duncan grabbed the win in the 400 low hurdles and Carter won the long jump.
