State Sen. Greg DiDonato, D-Dennison, will be the keynote speaker tonight at the American Legion, 520 W. Union St.
The Senate minority leader probably will talk about the state budget, which is the main topic of discussion in Columbus right now, said Susan Gwinn, Athens County Democratic chairwoman.
DiDonato has served as a state representative and as mayor of Dennison. While in high school he was appointed to the Dennison Council and three years later was elected mayor. He is now a member of the Agriculture and Reference committees and is the ranking minority member on the Rules Committee.
Gwinn said Rep. Derrick Seaver, D-Minster, and Denny White, chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party, also will attend the event.
