of Nelsonville

followed by five years of community control probation and 400 hours of community service. If he violates the probation he could receive to up 15 years in prison.-

manufacturing explosive devices and arson.

Logan Clay 19 of Nelsonville

was sentenced last Friday to complete a minimum-security rehabilitation program followed by five years of community control probation. He must finish the program in less than nine months or he could face 30 months in prison.

He received a lesser sentence because prosecutors believe he had no part in manufacturing the bombs

and was indicted on counts of arson and possession of dangerous ordinance.

Both men were arrested following a bombing July 25 that caused $2

500 damage to Wilson's Camera and Studio in Nelsonville. Bombs were also detonated at Nelsonville Middle School and the Nelsonville Elks Lodge

but they did not cause an explosion. The bombs contained various nails and tacks that would act as shrapnel when the bombs exploded.

Mike Miller

Cuthill's lawyer

said his client has taken responsibility for what he did and thinks the last couple weeks will serve as a wake-up call.

They're grown kids who got wrong ideas into their heads, Miller said.

Cuthill and Clay were ordered to split the $2

500 in damages to Wilson's Camera Shop with co-defendant Roy Plant III.

Cuthill was also ordered to split $100 in damages to Nelsonville Middle School with Plant and Clay. Cuthill is also to have no contact with the Nelsonville Elks Lodge.

The guilty pleas show the pair have taken responsibility for their actions and can start working to become productive members of society, said Keller Blackburn

assistant Athens County prosecutor. But the sentencing hopefully helps to make the victim feel whole again
